With the new X-Men comics coming out, it had me thinking about Rogue's Age of Apocalypse outfit & how much I loved it...

Just a few faces from an old explainer project.  Loved this set...

A little sci-fi epic concept...

I'm always a huge nerd for science fiction of any medium... though many concepts are re-imagined or just plain re-used, I don't seem to ever be tired of them!

My "Blah's"

Lots of things going around in my head -- exploring and reminding myself to let go and have fun to draw... very quick sketches today.

Tumblr blog up!

Got on board the Tumblr wagon... I'm mainly going to satisfy my anime fan art craving there, but I'll keep this one updated as well!  Check it out if you are on Tumblr!

A little preview of what to expect there... :^)

My bread & butter ...

Quick little board for a story in mind...a common shot, but I still enjoy it.

Always thought of this one...quick photoshop sketch.  Just spent about an hour on this.

Some random photoshop sketches of characters in my mind...more to come!  I'm having fun just drawing like this again.

The News Funnel

Such a great project...Linda did an amazing job animating that dog.  This time around our new script writer Alex Hendler whipped up a great little story for us to tell, and I'm super excited to share it with you all.

Some storyboard & illustration work!

Inside Track

Definitely one of our favorites we've worked on this year...the usual team knocked this out of the park: Jen Zug on writing/creative director, Linda Spain animating, and myself illustrating and storyboarding.  This was a great chance to play with color in a "side-scroller" animation.  Wish the hot-air balloon survived the drafts though!  :)

Pinch Zoom

A little illustration project (with help from my wife) I did for friends at Pinch Zoom.

It's all about mobile!

Saturday, April 30, 2011

I have an epic story in mind...something I've been thinking about for a few years now.  Not sure if it will translate into a graphic novel, comic book, animation pitch, etc., but in any case I do hope to push it further this year.

These are rough silhouettes of characters/people in the world.  Nothing is set in stone yet.

Just a quick sketch...

New Ideas!

Gonna be brainstorming a new site/blog (Yas you're helping me), new projects, and new ventures in the very near future!  Wish me luck!

Time to Think!

Concept boards and a few storyboards; though production didn't quite execute how I would have liked, I think the style and design are still fun.

Another great project I illustrated, storyboarded, and helped direct with Lilach Tfilin as animator and Jen Zug writing...very fun approach and a unique style.  The clients were great to work with, and this has quickly become one of favorites!

Our client Experience came to us with the BroadCause project and a very open mind to creating this one minute animation; they always gave excellent feedback and were hand in hand with us during the production.  This was the first of many projects to come working with Linda Spain, a superb animator in every way.  She really brought this to life and added lots of subtle animations to make it special.  Jen Zug doing the spot on writing as usual, and myself in the usual "art director" role as illustrator and storyboard artist.

This lovely gem of a project was one of my most enjoyable yet!  The client was located in Israel, and they were a real great crew to bounce ideas and get feedback from.  Our animator we worked with on this was also (coincidentally) located in Israel; her name is Lilach Tfilin, and was one of the most easy, talented, and creative animators I've worked with.  She helped create our vision in the script/storyboard into a real clean and professional piece.  As always, our creative director Jen Zug wrote this!

Here are some early conceptual designs of our "chap"; my wife Yas even helped on sketching some out!  :)
